CANNABIS SOCIAL CLUBS IN JERUSALEM? A Global Petition
I am generally opposed to internet and email petitions, but an organizer from the Legalise Cannabis Alliance has convinced me that there is more to this than an internet petition. And after the whole media frenzy I conjured up with the kashrut of marijuana, who am I to argue that more publicity can’t help bring attention to these issues. I think of people I know who’ve gone to jail over marijuana and I, for one, am sick about it! What kind of creative campaigns can we come up with to raise awareness of the many issues associated with legalization?

THE PETITION
We the undersigned petition the Governments of all Nations to allow local legal private-member Cannabis Social Clubs for adults.
CANNABIS SOCIAL CLUBS: A HEALTHY OPTION
In most countries, adults can go to a shop or bar when they want to buy alcohol or consume, or they can brew their own. There should be a system for production and distribution of cannabis that will cause less problems and lower policing costs. There should be a place where cannabis can be enjoyed in a responsible way, where it is away from minors, hard drugs, and where the consumers are safe.
CSC?s are associations of citizens who want to cultivate a limited amount of cannabis to satisfy their personal needs legally. Health and safety conditions of a CSC should be monitored during the entire process - from cultivation to consumption. This would stop the use of adulterants used in the illegal market all with their own risks. Cultivation would take place in accordance with safety rules. This would reduce problems such as fire risk and theft of electricity. Membership of the clubs would be limited to adults, so these clubs are a way to reduce the availability of cannabis to minors.
DESIRED OUTCOME
To gather support calling on all Governments to consider allowing Cannabis Social Club models as a harm reduction measure.
Alun’s response to my cynicism re: petitions in general:
The idea of the petition is to help bring attention to the proposal, which will be seen in a more powerful way by the press if we gain large numbers of signatures from around the world.
In addition, ENCOD will be presenting the CSC Proposal during the forthcoming European Consultation process - the petition simply outlines one possible model for a move towards legalisation.

I believe you should have the choice. There is enough evidence that alcohol is far worse than cannabis. Before I smoked I drank. My life with drink I dont remember. The one I have now with cannabis I remember aswell as enjoy. juli x

Aims & objectives of present prohibitionist drug-policy is unrealistic, causes more harm to European citizens than the actual drugs.
Perhaps you disagree, if so please come and debate this issue.
Sincerely

It is clearly time to ‘end prohibition’.

Operation Overgrow (not very confidential, but very influential) is an operation taking place more or less all over the world.
what’s it’s all about? Sowing marijuana plants in public places as a quiet and in most parts legal protest of todays worlds marijuana prohibition.
when the marijuana plants have grown to maturity, tip of the customs and police. They’ll have to drag it up by it’s roots and lo and behold burn it. Sooner or later we’ll have created an atmosphere saturated with marijuana smoke.
Ok, it may take a while but hey it worked with carbon dioxie didn’t it? 8O)

There are many medicinal benefits of marijuana, which some medical doctors say alleviates the pain and nausea associated with AIDS, cancer, cancer treatment, and other diseases. I was recently in a car accident, in which I was hit by a drunk driver. I broke 6 ribs, my neck, and several virtebre in my back. I have been in the hospital for the last 2 months, and in rehabilitation for the last 6 months. I have been prescribed medication for my chronic pain, but have stopped takeing it after I noticed I was becoming addicted. A doctor of mine reccomended the use of cannabis as an alternative to prescruption drugs, and issue a medical marijuana card. I deceided to purchase a ‘grow box’ using hydroponics, as it would be the easiest way to quickly get my garden setup. I was not in the place of mind to turn a room into a garden. My prebuilt machine made it easy to start my clones, and my new garden in a couple of hours. After 2 months I now have some beautiful plants awaiting harvest, and look forward to a natural way of releiving my pain. I was recently in a serious car accident, in which I was hit by a drunk driver. I broke 6 ribs, my neck, and several vertebrae in my back. I was in the hospital for the last 2 months, and in rehabilitation 6 months since. I have been prescribed medication for my chronic pain, but have stopped taking it after I noticed I was becoming addicted to pain killers. My doctor recommended the use of cannabis as an alternative to prescription drugs, and issued a medical marijuana card (I live in California; where it’s legal to grow a few plants). I decided to purchase a grow box using hydroponics, for growing indoors, inside instead of outside; as it would be the easiest way to quickly get my garden producing the natural cocktail I require, and to make it through the day. My pain is almost in-imaginable. After 2 months I now have some beautiful plants awaiting harvest, and look forward to a natural way of relieving my pain. It’s cheaper, and for me more effective. I know marijuana is illegal in most of the country, but for me it is a godsend. I really believe that it should be legalized as an alternative medicine for those in need. Just my 2 cents…
